Knocking out Injustice
Thanks for participating! Our tweet driven robot boxing match is over, but you can still make a difference by donating to L.A. Kitchen. All donations through the end of 2016 will be matched by an anonymous donor, so you can still help to Knock Out Injustice.
About the Cause
L.A. Kitchen does not present itself as a hunger relief organization. While the organization does help to bring food to populations in need, it is by no means a food bank. L.A. Kitchen was founded by Robert Egger as a means of fighting injustice in its many forms through a number of food-centered programs. These programs serve to reduce food waste, create jobs and provide proper nutrition to those in need. The approach takes on institutional issues including homelessness, ageism and recidivism.
Through this model, the delivery of food to those in need within a community is the direct result of vocational programs helping to build and strengthen. A system that sets its sights on the root of these issues has sustainability that nurtures positive growth. To learn more, visit www.lakitchen.org.
